As the son of Bollywood icon Rati Agnihotri, Tanuj had a passion for acting from a young age and knew that he wanted to pursue it as a career. He started his Bollywood career with the Hindi movie Luv U Soniyo in 2013, directed by Joe Rajan, and went on to appear in the 2014 film Purani Jeans directed by Tanushri Chatterji Bassu, opposite Izabelle Leite and Aditya Seal.

Tanuj’s versatility as an actor can be seen in the range of roles he has portrayed in various shows and movies. He has played integral roles in Alt Balaji’s Code M opposite Jennifer Winget, and ZEE5’s most successful show, Poison. In addition, he has appeared in Jasmine Moses D’souza’s One Night Stand opposite Sunny Leone, and was also a contestant on the celebrity reality TV show, Box Cricket League.

Tanuj has shown a keen interest in directing and writing, and has made several socially relevant short films, which have received critical acclaim. He recently appeared in the second season of the popular web series, Illegal, on Voot Select.
